Big in Japan

The competition between the poker sites are amazing. Lots and lots af sites compete with an intense ferocity for those few bucks they can get from each poker player. Most of them do this by trying out different ways of marketing or offering bigger bonuses and stuff like that. A smaller number has decided to hit the different markets. Two of these are ChiliPoker and PokerLoco. With focus on a smaller market the competition is less even though the money is still fairly good.

This can indeed be a very successful way to make more money on your poker site even though you don’t feel you can really compete with the big ones.

Poker Bonus

Bloged in Online Poker by admin Monday March 17, 2008

Getting a good poker bonus can be the big difference for an online poker player. Finding a site that can offer a great bonus can quickly transform you into a money making machine.

Lots and lots of us have spent the summers playing poker when we were in the uni or college. Those of us that made money from it were the ones that realized that you need to whore the bonuses to make money. What you do is you sign up at a poker room, deposit the amount needed for their biggest bonus and then start the grind. Play as tight as you can and play at least 6 tables at a time. Play the tables with the low blinds so you can prey on the beginners and make sure that you don’t lose money.

Play like this for ever and ever and as soon as you have played enough hands to cash out your poker bonus you withdraw your money and leave the poker room forever. Think it’s dirty business? I don’t the poker rooms make enough money and giving you a good bonus is worth it for them, otherwise they wouldn’t.

Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo

I used to get so bored sitting at home on the evenings, I used to have people over all the time but it was the usual guys. We used to just sit down and have a few beers watching boring TV. Sometimes we’d go for a pizza. Now though, it’s never boring again.

We started adding poker to the boring nights. In the beginning we just played a few cash games to make time go by. At first it was pretty fun but it gets old pretty soon, we never played for any real money, just a few dollars because none of us can spare that much. It took us maybe 4 weeks to get sick of all the cash games.

Then it struck us, let’s keep track of the score. We started a sort of poker league that we chose to call SuperKoppa and started playing tourneys instead. We set an  award for winning the Koppa at $120 which was about the total sum of money that changed hands during our cash game weeks. It’s still not lots of money but at least it is enough to get you drunk and that’s something compared to the $23 I had in my bankroll after 4 weeks of cash games.

We did like this, both players that played heads up in the tourney got points, the winner 10 and the 2nd 5.  The players that finished last and second last got -10 and -5. This to create balance so that if yo umissed a tourney it wouldn’t kill your rating. After 4 weeks the player with the most points won it all. By having a high score list and the possibility to miss one evening we made it much more fun to play.

I will blog about everything that happens in my poker games. I will blog a bit in general about poker and some about the world famous poker players and poker TV-shows.
